Colors of Life

"Music is the reflection of life that has different beat and colors"

One December night in Cebu Coliseum, and Album was launching concert of Colours of Chorus as one of the UC day's highlight.

As the spotlight pointing on the center stage, students are busy securing a sheet of paper and pen just to observe, grasp and to accumulate all perception of the entire show.

The concert was officially started with production of colors in music that describe the different personalities and experiences of life. One song emphasize that our Alma Mater, staffs, teachers, parents and students are working hard together for the success of individuals and that whatever may happens they are still friends forever.

The empty and open heart filled with dreams, joys and desire as music penetrated the souls of the audience also performers would like to impart the message that dreams do come true if you put your heart into it.

Music is the reflection of life, a beautiful journey. The response and appreciation of students are proof that the value of generation X being obedient still exists. The concert was proved that students are excelling not only academic subjects but in different facet of life.

Keep it up!

COMPLETE UNION WITH GOD

My input of BO SANCHEZ talked in Cebu Grand Convention Center
March 04, 2002 @ 7-9pm

I'm just sharing this to you what I've learned. It's all about the importance of the Mass and how we become closest to God.

Bo said, everybody wants to go to Heaven. Well, Heaven is here on earth. Because at Mass. Jesus inviting us a banquet, "Come, join us and eat me." He prepared the best food He has, to show how He loves us, how precious us to him.

The closest you can be to love.
Truth: the Eucharist is your highest point of union with God on earth. We experience Jesus and all of heaven coming down to earth, actually down to your tongue and coming down to your heart.

Yes, we union with God in praying Holy Rosary and praying in Blessed Sacrament but the closest/highest point is when we receive Him during communion.

In Isaiah 54:5, my spouse shall be my creator. As we fall in line for communion, just like we're walking the aisle of our wedding day going to the altar and the bride/groom waiting there, which is Jesus.

The closest you can be to power.
It changes us.

St. Augustine said; you become what you eat.

If you have seen some corrupt politicians attending the mass every Sunday or you received the body of Christ daily but still no changes happen to you. And your still doing your bad habits, do not blame the priest, the church and the Lord because you are not open for changes. Open your heart and let God changes you or totally control yourself. If we believe and let God changes us. Theirs a miracle happen to our life.

Quote from 5th century Monk of mount Sinai. When that fire (body of Christ) enters us, it at once drives the evil spirits from out heart and remits the sins we have previously committed. And if after this, standing at the entrance to our heart, we keep strict watch over the intellect, when we are again permitted to receive those Mysteries, the divine body will illumine our intellect still more and make it shine like a star.

Next time you receive Him in communion, what would you want Him to do for you?

Thank you for reading and God bless you.

LOOKING FOR THE YAMASHITA TREASURE?

Most of the people especially in Asia are spending a lot of money to find the Yamashita treasure. Brothers and Sisters I suggest you to attend the mass, you will find there a true treasure, the Eucharist.

Eucharist is the real treasure that you can find without the help of a map, wouldn't need to spend a lot of money for machines and pay for security guards. You know brothers and sisters Jesus Christ truly present there substantially and sacramental under the appearance of bread and wine.

The reality and the mystery of the Eucharist that Jesus Christ make himself present body, blood, soul and divinity have been for me the source of countless hours of meditation and contemplation before the blessed sacrament. The treasure of the Eucharist is inexhaustible in its many graces and understandings. Like a precious diamond, each view of it offers new and deeper insights.

When we attend the mass, sharing the basic, earthly reality of bread and wine become the sacrament of the body and blood of Christ, we express who we are and how we want to live, not just on Sunday, but day by day, indeed, hour by hour. In sharing the body and blood of the lord. We commit ourselves to a whole way of life centered on communion, justice and charity.

To celebrate the Eucharist implies that we live our lives motivated by this vision of communion, justice and charity. To break bread and share the cup, the sacred body and blood of the lord, is to live in memory of Christ's death, to have died with him. To have died with Christ is to live for God and for the coming of God's reign wherein the power of love prevails over all evil.

Brothers and sisters start now finding the true treasure.

May the peace of the Lord be with you always.

THE LORD WILL PROVIDE

I quoted this from the book Traces of Love by Fr. Erasio Flores, SVD. The Lord will provide it's a title of his life experience when he was a little boy who fell from Carabao that has developed him a phobia for riding. When he become a missionary and sent to Indonesia on a tour of duty. He was always anxious, lest him be forced to ride a horse in his journeys. One day when he was going to a mission in the high mountain, proclaiming the words of God in some villages there. Its been his first horse-ride, an hour's ride. In the following couple of weeks, he was going to be on horseback 55 hours, all in all, going over the roughest terrain one can ever imagine, journeying from 4 to 12 hours on a stretch. He becomes an expert rider.

As I reflected, going back to my first day in Lear that was 11 years ago. I was assigned as a pre-blocker/looper in unified harness, sometimes wedger in rotary with 46 connectors. It's not easy being a production worker. But in some way it is making me stronger and a better person. To work as an office staff is only a dream for me because I got only a high school diploma. But I consider this as a challenge and it's only a matter of persistence, enough patience that we make our dreams come true...Now, I am happy doing my job for four years as an Engineering Aide.

As Fr. Erasio says; when the Lord sends you, he will equip you with the necessary ability to do your work. In the process I was like a child, helpless and not knowing how things would develop, but trusting that I would be able to do it. And presto! I made it!

God's promise (Philippians 4, 13) "I can do all things in him who strengthens me."

A prayer:
If people only know, dear Lord; how much power and strength you bestow on those who believe and trust in you! You are our mainstay in Life's journey.

HOW TO LOVE YOURSELF THE WAY GOD LOVES YOU

Good day! Its my pleasure to share with you what I have learned from Bo's talk the night of June 03, 2002.

I believe that loving yourself is NOT the greatest thing in the world which contradict from Media and Modern thinkers who believe it is. But it is important! Why? Because loving ourselves is a prerequisite to be able fully love anyone---God or neighbor. The Bible says, "Love your neighbor as you love yourself." Because bottom line, you cannot give what you don't have. So lets learn how to love ourselves in God's way.

YOU CREATE YOUR LIFE. You can create your life the way you want. Its only a matter of choose. You can choose to receive God's blessing 24 hours a day! Deuteronomy 30:1 "I have now given you a choice between a blessing and a curse. When all these things have happened to you. You will remember the choice I gave you."

STOP BLAMING. Albert Ellis says, The best years of your life are the one in which you decide your problems are your own. You don't blame on your Mother, the ecology, or the President. You realize that you control your own destiny. The problem is not there but in you. Don't put the blame others what you have life right now. Please understand that you create your life. "If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude. Don't complain." -- Maya Angelou.

YOU can continue progress through life while overcoming various difficulties. Many others were surpassing tremendous odds. Demosthenes, the greatest of all orators, stuttered. Homer and Milton, both distinguished writers, were blind. Julius Caesar, a statesman and general, was an epileptic. Beethoven was deaf. They could have used their circumstances as excuses not to do something with their lives, but instead they strove to excel in what they did. Their success did not come from being famous, but from the satisfaction of knowing they used their talents to improve the world.

YOUR LIFE NOW IS THE PRODUCT OF YOUR CHOICES. Matthew 25:14 At that time the kingdom of heaven will like this. Once there was a man who was about to leave home on a trip. He called his servants and put them in charge of his property. He gave to each one according to his ability; to one he gave five thousand gold coins, to another he gave two thousand, and to another he gave one thousand. Yes, life is a mess and unfair, in fact, the Bible doesn't say that life is fair. But you're still accountable and in-charge in response of your past. You can be a Victor not a Victim. Two things can help you change your life: Prayer and Choose.

Remember that the choices we make, not our circumstances will determine our success in Life.

STRENGTHEN YOUR FAITH!
There will be points in your life when you can't handle problems alone. Think about SOMEONE whose more powerful, and who loves you dearly to take care of you. Having faith in God will give you hope.

You can change the world only if you change your heart. The words and example of such a person can have a wide influence for the good of others around him.

Do something amazing today! Share a Gift - Touch lives.

Get Real

Yesterday night (May 06, 2002) I was in Cebu Grand Convention Center. God led me the way, being able to listen, yet the talk was very disturbing but I am happy because He reminding me the blind spots of my life that I ignored. To face off the mask and get real. I don't know whats your secrets maybe some of us fallen in Drugs, Premarital Sex, Adultery and Abortion. Jesus challenge us to peel off our mask and get real

I'm so happy to share with you a new teaching series of Bo Sanchez.

Two years ago, He shared about the 2nd Greatest Commandment on loving others in the 9-talks series, "FILL YOUR LIFE WITH LOVE,"
Last year, He discussed the 1st Greatest Commandment of loving God in the 9-talks teaching series, DEEPEN YOUR LOVE LIFE WITH GOD.
This year, He will give the third installment, a brand new teaching series on loving yourself, also for 9-talks, entitled HOW TO LOVE YOURSELF THE WAY GOD LOVES YOU.
His thesis: I believe that loving yourself is NOT the greatest thing in the world. Media and Modern thinkers believe it is, and I totally disagree with them. Its isn't an end to itself. BUT it is important!
Why? Because I believe that loving yourself is a precondition to be able to fully love anyone, God or neighbor. The Bible says, Love your neighbor as you love yourself. Because bottom line, you cannot give what you don't have. (I wish to acknowledge some of my references to our new teaching series: Phillip McGraw's "Life Strategies and Ron Jenson's "Make a Life, Not just a Living.)

You cannot give what you don't have.
So lets learn how to love ourselves God's way.

TALK 1: GET REAL AND HALF THE BATTLE IS WON
You can't change what you don't acknowledge

I. Getting Real: eing Totally Honest With Yourself:

"I have long believed that 50% of the solution to any problem lies in defining the problem."
--Phillip McGraw, Ph.D.

1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Matthew 7:5 You hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of your own eye; and then shall you see clearly to cast out the beam out of your brother's eye.

II. Obstacles Towards Getting Real:

a. Denial
b. Making initial assumptions and failing to test its accuracy
c. Inertia paralyzed by fear and yes, denial again
d. Victim mentality

III. Defining Your Destroyer
Samuel and Delilah
Judges 16:4 Samson fell in love with a woman named Delilah, who lived in Sotek Valley. The five Philistine kings went to her and said, Trick Samson into telling you why he is so strong and how we can overpower him, tie him up, and make him helpless. Each of us will give you eleven hundred pieces of silver.

Judges 16:15 So she said to him, "How can you say you love me, when you don't mean it? You've made a fool of me three times, and you still haven't told me what makes you so strong. She kept on asking him, day after day. He got so sick and tired of her bothering him about it that he finally told her the truth the truth. May hair has never been cut, he said. I have been dedicated to God as a nazirite from the time I was born

Reflection Questions:

1. If I were to be brutally honest with myself, what is NOT working in my life?
2. What excuses do I have for letting this part of my life stay this way so long?

3 Recommendation to Get Real:

1. Confession confess to the ordained priest for reconciliation.
2. Go to someone near to your heart and ask; What is NOT working in my life. Because you can't see your blind spots.
3. Get a piece of paper and write down the five questions; your weaknesses / blind spots or dreaded questions. And give it to someone that will remind or ask you every time you'll meet.

Next talk will be on June 03, entitled YOU CREATE YOUR LIFE THEN, NOW, & TOMORROW. Thanks and God bless you!

The Silent Night

Christmas, a birth celebration of firstborn son wrapped with swaddling clothes and lay in the manger. Where you can sees the sparkling lights in different color and Christmas lanterns hanging in establishments, houses and highways. Where you can heard BOOM! BANG! BLOOM! of fireworks. Where all men are busy in their different activities.

It was silent night 2002 years ago in Bethlehem. Right now, our society experiences different facet of problems. In this holiday season, can we still embrace the cool breeze of Christmas Eve? Yes! We can, if we content what God bestowed upon us, If we humbly accept all the complications in our life and especially our society; if we learn to give, love and be generous to least fortunate person because silent night is the peace of mind and heart.

He love so much the world; enabled word become flesh and dwelt amongst us, then why He chose the manger as nativity place? It's because God want men of all generations remind always to be simple, humble and obedient. Manger is the symbol of humility and that emphasize to simplicity, a sign of greatness and way to happiness.

The implications of trials in our lives especially on time of Christmas are encouraging us to unite and be united with HIM. To reborn our hope for peace, for truth, for justice, for love, for understanding and for goodwill to men. Let our heart be the manger of the child Jesus.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

NATIONAL CHARISMATIC CONGRESS
I'll be sharing you the homily of REV. FR. JOSEPH A. FALLER, Chairman of the Board NSC-CCRPhil. Given during the Third National Charismatic Congress on April 20, 2002. The one that caught my attention was the Paradox of time, I guess, this will be of great help for us to see what is Paradoxical in our life today.

THE PARADOX OF TIME

The paradox of time in history is that
We have taller buildings but shorter tempers;
Wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more but have less;
We buy more but enjoy less.

We have bigger houses and smaller families;
More convenience but less time;
We have more degrees, less sense;
More knowledge but less judgement;
More experts, yet more problems,
More medicine, but less wellness.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values.
We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.
We have learned how to make a living, but not a life,
We have added years to life but not life to years.

We have we been all the way to the moon and back,
But have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor.
We have conquered outer space but not inner space,
We have done larger things but not better things.

We have cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul.
We have conquered the atom, but not our prejudices.
We write more but learn less.
We plan more, but accomplish less.

We have learned to rush, but not to wait.
We build more computers to hold more information
To produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are times of fast foods and slow digestion;
Big men and smaller character;
Steep profits and shallow relationships.
These are days of two incomes but more divorce,
Fancier houses but broken homes.

These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers,
Throw away morality, one-night stands,
Overweight bodies and pills that do everything from cheer to quiet, to kill.

It is a time when there is much on the show window
And nothing in the stock room.

A time when technology can bring this letter to you and a time when you can
Chose either to share this insight, or just hit delete.

Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe
Because this little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember to give a warm hug to the one next to you
Because this is the only treasure that you can give with your heart and does not cost a cent.

Give time to love, give time to speak, give time to share
The precious thoughts in your mind and heart.
-George Carlin

With this paradoxical reality in our life. We need again to be empowered by the Lord's words as we meet the daily struggle in life. Although sometimes we feel that our own boat is sinking that our EFFORTS are FRUITLESS let us listen to the words of Jesus inspiring to go on with the hope that God will use of shortage, limitations to bring about the miracle in our life. We have to be men and women of hope. Let us focus on the positive side of life.

The Holy Father in his encyclical invites us to remember the past with gratitude, to live the present with enthusiasm and to look forward to the future with confidence. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. (Heb 13:8)
